Hi! I’m Cary Davis, Founder of Colibri Circuits

I’m a Phoenix, Arizona based Circuit Board Designer with 25 years of circuit board design experience. From white boarding to schematic, to part sourcing, PCB design, prototyping, troubleshooting, compliance, validation and testing, I have worked through the whole process of getting an idea imagined and shipped to the end customer. Now I bring that expertise to my client, you.
After 25 years with the same company it was time to make a change. I had been with one company for half of my life. I liked the company. I love what I do. The best thing to do was start my own consulting business. I could continue to do what I love, but also love my company.
I could pursue professional interests without being told “No”. A specific problem, I could look further into it. A specific need, I could seek it. A specific issue, I could research it. A new technology or approach, I could implement it.

Outside of the office I enjoy time mountain biking. More problems have been solved or ideas though on the mountain bike than on a desk chair. Spending time with my wife and children.
The Story Behind Colibri Circuits
Colibri is the French and Spanish word for "hummingbird" - an amazing little bird indeed! Hummingbirds have always fascinated me - they are a perfect combination of beauty and an engineering feat! It was amazing to me how such a small bird could travel so far, migrating north, and arrive on-time on the farm where I grew up every spring down to the hour.
Some of their iridescent colors come from the makeup of their feathers where only certain wavelengths of light can be reflected. A recent Stanford University analysis of hummingbird wings showed that they generate lift more efficiently than the best micro-helicopter blade!
Colibri Circuits represents the beauty and excitement of engineering in action - and a perfect name for my consulting company!
