1. DESIGN & SIMULATION
Based on our Discovery sessions, we evaluate your software and hardware requirements and determine estimated cost and the feasibility and manufacturability of the product. An initial PCB Circuit design concept is created.
2. SCHEMATIC ENTRY
The idea is put into design where the schematic is entered into CAD software and simulated to prove performance. Components are checked for availability, performance and limitations. Bill Of Materials (BOM) data is determined by assigning part numbers, finalizing packages and adding client-specific specifications to the schematic.
3. PCB LAYOUT
After initial Bill of Materials approval, the PCB Board layout design stage begins. Here important considerations like IPC standards are adopted, heat dissipation is planned, EMC and EMI mitigation is employed, mechanical specifications are determined and manufacturability are taken into consideration. The schematic can be back annotated for design optimization.
4. PROTOTYPING
Once the PCB layout is approved, depending on the complexity of the project, Colibri Circuits can prototype in-house. For more complex circuits we can help source a local on-shore manufacturers. Higher volume and more cost conscience products may opt to use off-shore resources to prototype.
5. TESTING & VALIDATION
Test the protype and design to customer and regulatory specifications. Confirm the product’s form, fit and function.
6. DOCUMENTATION HANDOFF
Final test specifications and test procedures are documented. Manufacturing data is packaged and released for the product.
